forearm pain
Sunday, October 18, 2009
I’m still experiencing forearm pain, even though I’ve been taking it easy on the holds that usually cause pain. I’ve read conflicting reports about taking the glucosamine chondroitin supplement for tendon issues, but I figure it can’t hurt. So that’s what I’m taking for it now. We’ll see if it improves anything. But mainly what I’m trying to do now to fix things is I’m not doing the moves that cause me pain, and I’m trying to build strength in general in my arms and hands so that I can hold myself up better and not put so much force on the tendons. I’m no doctor, but this sounds OK. If things get worse, I’m going to visit a doctor although I’m afraid they will tell me to stop doing what I’m doing altogether and that would make me very sad.
Update – September 27, 09

I’m still avoiding moves that hurt my forearms, but I am also trying to warm up a lot more before practice. Yesterday I tried doing a quick 1 mile jog before practice and that really felt good.
I also bought my first pair of stilettos to play around in. Quite fun.
Here are some photos and videos from the last week.

Still looking for contestants, too. No, I won’t try out for it. Haha.

I don’t really know how to play on the spinning pole feature of my pole yet, but here’s a little playing with chair+spinny pole. I feel a little like a ballerina sometimes and I like it.

Here’s a photo of me trying to do a basic invert. Not very graceful. My body doesn’t really know what to make of it.
But today I did a crossed leg release for the very first time. Very exciting. I think it’s pretty, too.
